About this program
The Two-Subject Bachelor's degree program with a subsequent Master's degree program for teaching at vocational schools at the University of Erfurt is unique in Thuringia. At TU Ilmenau, you study two subjects in the Bachelor's program: a vocational subject – metal technology or electrical engineering – and a general education subject: mathematics. The Master of Education at the University of Erfurt then supplements this with educational science and subject-specific didactic content. The aim of the study program is to train teachers for vocational schools: as teachers for the two subjects at vocational schools, vocational training schools, and vocational grammar schools. Alternatively, after the Bachelor's degree, you can pursue an engineering Master's degree program at TU Ilmenau and thus be ideally prepared for diverse professional fields in industry and business. Either way, you have a job guarantee with the degree: the demand for teachers for vocational schools is just as huge as that for engineers.
