About this program
Many processes in public administration and companies are unthinkable without the support of information technology (IT). Information processing technologies are ubiquitous. Highly qualified specialists are needed for the planning, development, and operation of largely seamless IT systems, who possess well-founded knowledge in administration in addition to knowledge in the field of information processing. The training of such professionals is the goal of the Verwaltungsinformatik specialization within the Wirtschaftsinformatik degree program. During the course of study, students develop competencies to contribute to the transformation of administrative and business processes. Furthermore, there is the possibility to take certification exams for IT security officers and data protection officers according to BSI standards. Students of the degree program who have successfully completed at least three semesters can also be admitted to the external examination for IT specialists by the IHK Ostthüringen zu Gera.
