About this program
The Master's program in Supervision and Consulting, M.A. is designed for experienced professionals from various fields who wish to further their education in consulting, supervision, coaching, and further training. Students already possess initial additional qualifications (further and continuing education qualifications) in the areas of consulting, coaching, therapy, group dynamics, group analysis, or group pedagogy, as well as in further training content or study programs that focus on the thematic areas of personal, role, and organizational development. During the Master's program, students conduct supervised supervision processes, allowing for the reflection of practical topics and challenges throughout the course of study. The program imparts well-founded theoretical and knowledge competencies in consulting science, sociology, psychodynamics, group theory, group dynamics, and organizational theory. Students learn to understand organizations and teams from a socio- and field-theoretical perspective, to recognize role problems as well as recognition and justice conflicts, to classify conflict situations, and to negotiate different interests within contracts. They also acquire knowledge for a well-founded case understanding in case supervision. The curriculum of the Master's program meets the standards of the professional association of the German Society for Supervision and Coaching (DGSv) for certification or recognized qualification as a supervisor and coach. Graduates benefit from high professional recognition and binding quality standards. The Fliedner University of Applied Sciences offers one of four Master's programs nationwide with a focus on supervision that meets the high quality standards of the DGSv and integrates them into the study program. After graduation, students are qualified to design and lead supervisory settings in individual, group, and team contexts, as well as to coach managers and executives. They acquire understanding for the reflexive and process-oriented design of psychosocial consulting processes and competencies for teaching and further training, especially in workplace and supervisory consulting. The program qualifies for doctoral studies.
