About this program
The aim of the degree program, which builds on the foundations acquired in the Bachelor's program in Sports Science, Profile Economics and Society, is to build professional competencies that are required to scientifically understand and thus responsibly and purposefully manage the development of organizations within the broader sports system. Accordingly, on the basis of a sound general economic education, which is specialized in the areas of sports economics and sports management, and an insight into fundamental research methods, social theory, organizational sociology and psychology, students acquire knowledge and skills to work conceptually in a wide variety of sports-oriented organizations and, at the same time, to scientifically take into account the requirements of the market, society, and the respective organizational type. Further practical studies also offer the opportunity to deepen previously acquired professional practical experience, to open up further fields of activity, and to test the theoretical knowledge for its applicability in practice. Due to the explicit scientific orientation and the connection of the study program to ongoing research projects in the professional field, the degree program also offers good prerequisites for pursuing further scientific qualification after graduation, provided there is a corresponding inclination and suitability.
