About this program
The dual Bachelor's program Sport Science & Training combines study, training licenses, and professional practice from the beginning. It provides in-depth knowledge in sports medicine, diagnostics, training science, sports nutrition, evidence-based training, performance management, biomechanics, competition management, and regeneration. Students develop competencies in analytical areas, data management, and psychological and social skills for coaching. The program also covers organization, coaching, and the societal and legal framework of the coaching profession. The IST Hochschule aligns its study content with current labor market demands and scientific evidence. Sport-specific competence is acquired through training licenses obtained from cooperating regional and top-level associations, qualifying students as C, B, or A trainers. The accompanying professional practice takes place in clubs, associations, federal and Olympic training centers, or other sports-related employers, allowing students to apply their academic knowledge in practice, build their network, and gain professional experience during their studies. The university offers support in finding a suitable employer.
