About this program
The dual study program "Sozialrecht" (Bachelor of Laws, LL.B.) imparts legal, social, and economic competencies for a broad field of activity in social law, as well as migration law and migration law counseling. The dual study means being active in the field of work parallel to your studies. While studying "Sozialrecht / Migration und Recht", you simultaneously work for one of our practice partners in the area of social law or migration law. This enables an intensive theory-practice connection and an education where all participants appreciate the practical relevance, which is also reflected in the study content and tasks. The dual study is also financially worthwhile, as there is usually a monthly remuneration. The program "Sozialrecht - dual" will be offered from the winter semester 2025/26 in the unique variant "Migration und Recht" in Germany. This innovative study program qualifies in the areas of migration law and migration law counseling. The program imparts well-founded knowledge on central topics of our migration society of high economic and socio-political importance, such as mobility and labor migration, refugee protection and family reunification, integration, naturalization, and social (human) rights. At the interface of law and social sciences, it prepares students to actively contribute to shaping a just and future-oriented society. In contrast to classical law studies, which take a very long time and primarily prepare for the judicial profession (as well as the bar and public prosecution), the "Sozialrecht" study program awards the title Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). Graduates of both study variants "Sozialrecht" or "Migration und Recht" are qualified for a very broad professional field in companies, the social economy, authorities, and NGOs. After graduation, entry into a job or a Master's degree with a possible subsequent doctorate is possible.
