About this program

The part-time distance learning program in Social Work (BASA-online) imparts the necessary competencies and specialized knowledge to manage, implement, and reflect on support processes. The program focuses on the connection between theory and practice, with approximately three-quarters of the study being online-supported distance learning and one-quarter consisting of introductory and/or accompanying presence events. These events take place once a month on weekends (Friday and Saturday) in a block format. The online-supported distance learning component is media-technologically oriented, serving both as a learning objective and a medium of education, emphasizing media literacy which is essential in contemporary social work practice. The program aims to equip students with professional action competence in the fields of social work, covering theoretical foundations, methods, specialized knowledge, and key competencies, while also fostering media literacy and a professional social work attitude.
