About this program

In the full-time Social Work program, you will acquire sound professional knowledge and practical skills for a broad range of professions. In supervised practical phases, you will gain experience in areas such as youth welfare, family counseling, disability assistance, or refugee work. You will learn to professionally support people in various life situations and promote social participation. The program lasts six semesters and qualifies you for direct entry into the profession or for a subsequent Master's degree. Your chances on the job market are very good – the demand for qualified specialists is high. The degree program actively responds to new requirements in social work, for example, through specializations in youth welfare offices, ASD, or integration assistance. The curriculum is continuously developed to optimally prepare students for current and future fields of practice. This high relevance provides graduates with the best job prospects – also thanks to the generalist profile, which opens up diverse employment opportunities. Whether youth welfare, migration, homelessness, or school social work – students gain insight into various practical fields during internships. This diversity is reflected in the seminar groups and promotes exchange, perspective-taking, and a realistic picture of social work. Practice reflections, case discussions, and logbooks ensure close theory-practice transfer – with a real connection to professional life. Individual support is an integral part of the program: students are closely accompanied by study coordination, practice teams, and office hours – even in difficult phases. Someone is always available for all challenges. This open-door principle builds trust and ensures that no one gets lost in the system. Social work is more than a profession – it requires an attitude. This is specifically fostered in the program: through modules on self-reflection, ethical questions, professional identity, and resilience. Students learn to take responsibility, clarify roles, and deal professionally with stress. This strengthens their personality – and makes the difference in practice.
