About this program

The Master's program Sustainable ENergy CompetenCE (SENCE) - Sustainable Energy Economics and Technology is offered in cooperation between HFT Stuttgart and Hochschule Rottenburg. SENCE covers the breadth of technologies and market dynamics necessary to understand modern renewable energy systems in theory and practice. This includes generation technologies such as solar or wind power, electricity and heat grids, as well as seminars on electricity market design or mathematical modeling. SENCE is based on three pillars: Natural Sciences, Technical Sciences, and Economics and Social Sciences. A special focus of the program is on self-directed, project-oriented work and research. Students have the opportunity to complete the practical phases in the third and fourth semesters either at HFT Stuttgart or Hochschule Rottenburg, at other national or international research institutes, or in cooperation with the industry. The program has extensive contacts beyond the official partner universities.
