About this program
The Physician Assistance program qualifies you for a new profession at the interface of nursing and medicine. You will take on doctor-delegated tasks in patient care, participate in diagnostics and therapy, and work closely within an interprofessional team. The program equips you with practical skills for clinical work and teaches you to plan, implement, and evaluate treatment processes on a scientific basis. This makes a significant contribution to medical care, especially in a changing healthcare system with increasing demand for skilled professionals. Learning takes place in two locations: the Skills Lab on campus and in a clinic or general practice. From the second semester, you will complete approximately seven weeks of supervised practical training per semester with cooperation partners. In the Skills Lab, you will practice medical procedures realistically, such as emergency care or physical examinations. Competency-based assessments are used, such as OSCE or Mini-CEX. The program is closely integrated and designed to be practical, ensuring you learn with confidence and patient proximity from the start. Unlike many other Physician Assistance programs, entry to Fliedner University of Applied Sciences is possible even without prior vocational training. The curriculum is structured to support new students, with special guidance in the first semester. Experienced professionals can be flexibly integrated. This makes the program particularly attractive for school leavers who want to start a demanding, medically sound education directly. Fliedner University of Applied Sciences cooperates with over 70 clinics and around 200 departments, with binding contracts and medical mentors. You benefit from a reliable network that facilitates your entry. International experiences are also possible through blended learning modules with partner universities (e.g., in Belgium or the Netherlands) or practical phases abroad. These options broaden your horizons and career prospects. Fliedner University of Applied Sciences is highly regarded in the Physician Assistance field due to its high quality standards. Digital examination platforms and a broad network of lecturers ensure a challenging and modern study experience. Graduates are in demand in clinical patient care, research, MedTech, care management, or public health. Further Master's programs, e.g., in Clinical Research or Health Management, are also open to you.
