About this program

The Bachelor of Arts program in the Joint Bachelor of Arts specialization combines two equally weighted subject areas. The Philosophy subject area attempts to understand the nature, thinking, and actions of humans. It is not a specialized academic discipline but is open to a wide range of questions and fields. The program focuses on fundamental problems, methods, and concepts of philosophy, as well as Theoretical and Practical Philosophy. The Joint Bachelor of Arts program allows the combination of two study subjects that are studied equally. The degree "Joint Bachelor of Arts" is a first professional qualification. This allows one to start working or to further qualify in a corresponding Master's program. An optional area is provided: electives include internships, language courses, soft skills, courses from subjects within the Department of Social and Historical Sciences and the Academy for Music and Performing Arts, and possibly from other departments. The final thesis is written in either Subject Area 1 or Subject Area 2.
