About this program
The academic further education program for "Sustainability Manager (FHM)" at the Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM) takes into account the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) in their current versions. The CSRD-compliant orientation is based on the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and imparts extensive background and specialist knowledge that enables the coordination and design of legally compliant or voluntary reporting. The creation of a short report based on ESRS or, in the future, alternatively with the VSME (Voluntary ESRS for non-listed Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises) is integrated into the further education as a final thesis. The eight-month further education program is aimed at specialists and managers in companies who are or will be entrusted with work in the field of sustainability within the scope of their coordinating, administrative, and legal tasks. It thus offers professional further qualification in the field of sustainability management. All academic further education programs are also offered as in-house training. The program provides professionalization in corporate sustainability management, imparting necessary knowledge of structures and frameworks, focusing on the environment and the needs of internal and external stakeholders, and deriving approaches for action. The aim is to impart competencies for sustainability-related decisions in companies.
