About this program

The Master's program in Music Mediation/Music Management is aimed at individuals who professionally engage with music and wish to make their work more effective. Through musical experience, the program aims to make participation in culture possible for as many people as possible. It covers methods, formats, and concepts for children's and youth concerts to adult engagement, from participatory formats to staged stage concepts for large ensembles. Music mediation is a social practice and an interdisciplinary field focused on creating relationships with diverse audiences, primarily of classical music, to increase audience numbers or engage new and specific audiences. Graduates can work as concert educators, heads of music mediation departments in concert halls or orchestras, or transform their own concert practices. They can also expand their music school's profile or gain new impulses as cultural managers. Orchestral musicians can further their education to independently design their orchestra's concert education program or create, plan, and finance innovative artistic music mediation projects.
