About this program

The THD offers a modular study program to impart current and practice-oriented knowledge at university level. Continuing education and prospective students can attend selected modules in the fields of Construction & Environment, Business, Engineering, Health & Social Sciences, Computer Science, Design and Media to improve their personal qualifications or advance their careers, completing them with an examination at the end. Modules from non-admission-restricted Bachelor's and Master's degree programs can be taken upon application. If you want to "sample" several degree programs before starting a regular degree program to find out which one suits you best, you also have the option of completing an orientation study program at THD. Furthermore, the Center for Academic Continuing Education at THD offers numerous part-time degree programs and certificate courses in addition to full-time programs as a possibility for further qualification. A wide range of courses or modules can also be taken from this offering. Completed modules can be credited towards a later full-time or part-time degree program. Fees are charged for courses offered by the continuing education center. After successfully completing a module, the modular student receives a certificate with a grade and the ECTS points achieved. Modules can be completed within one or two consecutive semesters. Modules are offered either as regular on-site events, sometimes also as evening or weekend events, or as e-learning modules, allowing you to structure your learning phases as individually as possible – alongside work and family – and at the same time expand your professional network. Each enrolled student is registered as a student for the respective semester. The study program automatically ends after 1 semester (or 2 semesters for modules running over two semesters, requiring re-registration). Further modules can be applied for after the end of the modular study program.
