About this program
The Bachelor's degree program in Mechatronics at HFH prepares students for technical challenges at the interface of different engineering disciplines through interdisciplinary training in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and information technology. Students learn to develop sophisticated technical solutions for high-tech products by combining mechanical components with electronics and software. The program covers general foundational knowledge in mathematics, physics, technical computer science, programming, and scientific work, followed by engineering fundamentals in automation technology, electrical engineering/electronics, manufacturing technology, and construction and machine elements. Basic business management skills are also acquired. Specialized mechatronic knowledge is gained through five advanced modules: Mechatronic Systems and Design, Control Engineering, Networked Systems and Mobile Communication, Digital Circuits, and Programming. Students can choose from specializations in Robotics, Human-Machine Interaction, or Smart Products & Services. The program concludes with a Bachelor's thesis, awarding the academic degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.).
