About this program

Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary engineering science at the interface of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and information technology. It deals with the development and production of integrated mechanical-electronic systems that automatically capture information and signals, derive new data from them, and convert them into forces and movements. Mechatronic systems are ubiquitous today, whether in the form of active chassis and safety systems such as ABS, ASR, and ESP, industrial robots, DVD players for domestic use, or controls in large passenger aircraft. The Bachelor of Science degree program in Mechatronics at TU Darmstadt enables students to plan and realize complex, innovative mechatronic components and systems. The Bachelor of Science degree is a first professional qualification. However, at TU Darmstadt, the Master of Science is considered the standard degree. Completing a Master's program is therefore recommended.
