About this program

Mechanical engineering is the engineering science that deals with the design, development, manufacture and optimisation of machines and systems. It covers a wide range of technologies and applications, from the automotive industry to aerospace, medical technology and the energy industry. Mechanical engineers work to find efficient and innovative solutions to technical problems. The degree programme comprises a combination of compulsory and elective modules. The first two semesters teach you the basics of engineering science, such as engineering mathematics, physics, mechanics and materials technology. In the higher semesters, you can specialise in various fields, e.g. design, production, renewable energy technology, environmental and recycling technology or automation technology. The degree programme ends with a final module and the Bachelor's thesis, which is usually completed in an industrial company.
