About this program
Graduates of the Master's distance learning program in Electrical and Information Engineering are excellently trained for the classic engineering profession. This is characterized by an extraordinary variety of application possibilities. The field of activity extends to the areas of planning, development, project planning, manufacturing, testing, quality assurance, commissioning, and sales of electrical assemblies, devices, machines, and systems. Engineers are in demand in almost all areas and sectors of the economy (electrical and electronics industry, energy technology, mechanical engineering, automotive technology, medical technology, etc.). The program is modular in structure. Points are awarded for successfully completed learning areas (modules) according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), the number of which depends on the scope of a module and the associated workload. The performance achieved is thus internationally comparable and recognized. The details of the study and examination process are regulated by the study regulations (SO) and examination regulations (PO) of the program. The program is offered annually. Studies begin each winter semester. Graduates are qualified to solve work tasks in their professional field in an interdisciplinary manner using scientific methods. Through project-related work, the study also contributes to the development of personality and the acquisition of social, economic, and work science competencies. The additionally acquired skills enable graduates to work independently in further fields of electrical and information engineering, for example in research and development.
