About this program
The Master's program "Bildung und Erziehung im Kindesalter" (Education and Upbringing in Early Childhood) aims to equip students to effectively support children, families, and pedagogical professionals while advancing their own scientific and professional competencies. The program prepares graduates for roles in developing early childhood education practices, actively contributing to research, and excelling in professional advisory roles, teaching, or quality development. Key features include a strong scientific orientation with in-depth theoretical and methodological content from applied, empirical child and youth research, alongside diverse project work involving practical research and field-specific projects. The program offers two elective areas: "Advising Children and Families with Developmental Needs and Problematic Situations as well as Professionals in the Fields of Childhood Pedagogy" and "Didactics and Methodology of Adult Education in the Field of Education, Care, and Upbringing in Childhood Pedagogy."
