About this program
The Bachelor's program in Mechanical Engineering aims to provide a solid, application-oriented foundation in natural sciences and engineering. Students can choose from four specialization areas: Mobility, Energy Systems, Modern Production, or Health Technology. The decision for a specialization is made at the end of the third semester, allowing students to tailor their studies to their personal interests. The Mobility specialization focuses on the applications and technology for transporting people and goods. The Energy Systems specialization covers methods of energy generation, storage, conversion, and utilization, with an emphasis on resource and environmental protection. The Modern Production specialization qualifies students in the manufacturing and processing of various materials, along with production management, logistics, and quality management. The Health Technology specialization focuses on the design and adaptation of medical assistive systems to improve quality of life and provide therapeutic support. The program includes laboratory experiments, exercises in small working groups, and extensive project phases. The final semester includes a practical phase of at least 12 weeks and the Bachelor's thesis, preparing students for their professional careers. A Bachelor of Engineering degree allows for direct entry into the workforce or continuation of studies in a related Master's program.
