About this program
Civil Engineers design, build and maintain buildings, bridges, roads, dams, homes and more. In addition to a broad basic education, the Bachelor’s Degree Programme focuses on the practical connection by providing training periods, field trips and projects in cooperation with construction companies and engineering consulting companies of the region. During the first semesters, the main focus lies on a basic education in technical knowledge. Afterwards, the study modules cover more subject-specific topics and the students can set their own priorities by choosing from a range of compulsory elective modules. The course can be supplemented by an optional practical semester (or a study semester abroad) in order to gain practical experience. The seven-semester programme also qualifies students for a consecutive three-semester Master’s in Civil Engineering. The Bachelor of Engineering degree is an internationally recognized academic degree that enables direct entry into a career as a civil engineer. Graduates of the seven-semester programme (with practical semester) have the opportunity to follow up with a three-semester Master’s programme, which enables them to emphasis on a major field of study within the civil engineering work field.
