About this program
Future Mobility currently represents one of the major challenges for our society. Sustainable drives, innovative vehicle concepts, improved vehicle safety, use of state-of-the-art materials and manufacturing processes - there is a lot to do! We offer you a practical engineering degree programme in which you will learn how vehicles can be developed for sustainable mobility. Projects accompanying your studies will take you through our vehicle dynamics and engine laboratories and you will work with crash test dummies on the institute's own crash facility. Accompanying this, you will get to know simulation tools, without which modern vehicle development is impossible. We professors are at your side with our intensive contacts to industry and look forward to an intensive and personal collaboration with you! The programme has a standard period of study of 7 semesters. It begins with three semesters of training in the basic subjects before specific further training in the specific specialisation subjects. The study programme consists of a combination of lectures, exercises and practical work, in which you acquire the necessary knowledge, get to know the current simulation tools and development methods and can apply them immediately in the context of industry-related projects. The Bachelor's degree programme meets the international requirements for two-tier study models and thus represents a professional qualification (Bachelor of Engineering). It is an internationally recognised academic degree according to European guidelines. Following the Bachelor's degree, you can directly enter the profession as an engineer. You also have the opportunity to expand your knowledge within the framework of a 3-semester, advanced Master's programme and thus acquire the highest university degree attainable in Germany. All our degree programmes are regularly reviewed and officially accredited. The career prospects for students of automotive engineering are currently better than ever. Not only manufacturers and suppliers, but now also municipalities and the increasing number of mobility service providers are looking for automotive engineering graduates, so that very few graduates currently have any problems finding a real dream job.
