About this program
The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) program in Teaching for Primary Schools prepares students for teaching in primary education. The focus is on the individual development of children and the impartation of fundamental learning, working, and social skills. The program is divided into a six-semester Bachelor's degree (B.A.) and a four-semester Master's degree (M.Ed.), followed by a preparatory service (Referendariat). In total, students acquire 300 credit points distributed across various learning areas, subjects, educational sciences, and practical phases. The compulsory subject of Sport is combined with the learning areas of Language Education and Mathematical Education. Additionally, students complete educational sciences, practical phases, and content in the area of German as a Second Language (DaZ). The program combines sports science, pedagogical, and practical content, teaching students how to support children in an age-appropriate manner, design varied lessons, and utilize movement as an important component of the school day. Practical phases and the practical semester provide early insights into the future professional life in primary schools.
