About this program
The Bachelor's program in Art and Visual Culture is a two-subject bachelor's program, meaning a major subject is combined with a minor subject. Both minor subjects at the Braunschweig University of Art and at the Technical University of Braunschweig are available. The Braunschweig University of Art awards the study places for all subject combinations. Approximately 31 study places are expected to be available. All selectable subject combinations are admission-restricted, so applying for multiple subject combinations is not possible. If multiple applications are submitted, the last received application will be considered. For the minor subject Visual Communication, special artistic aptitude must be proven in the artistic admission procedure. The application deadline starts annually on February 1st and ends on March 15th. Proof of special artistic aptitude is valid for three admission dates. If Art and Visual Culture is to be studied as a minor subject, admission for the minor subject Art and Visual Culture must be applied for through the respective major subject. A lottery procedure will only be carried out if study places remain vacant after the allocation procedure has been completed. The application for the lottery procedure runs via the online application portal. In the event of a lottery procedure, the application deadline will be announced around mid/late September on the HBK Braunschweig homepage. The selection procedure is based on the admission regulations for the Bachelor's degree in Art and Visual Culture.
