About this program
The Master's program in Hospital Management at MSH Medical School Hamburg's Faculty of Health Sciences equips students with comprehensive competencies for managing healthcare facilities, particularly hospitals, medical centers, and rehabilitation facilities, as well as for consulting activities in the healthcare sector, pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, and health and social authorities. The full-time model with block weekends allows students to balance professional activities and/or family life with their studies. Building on a first academic degree in medicine, health, social sciences, or nursing, students will learn and deepen the tools to address management challenges in healthcare facilities. The program is divided into five competence fields with a total of 16 modules. General professional competence covers general business administration and health policy, providing an initial insight into the healthcare market and competition. Interdisciplinary professional competence delves into medical ethics, medical and hospital law, and communication psychology. Further specialized professional competencies relevant to future practice include corporate development, personnel management, digital hospital management, and construction planning, enabling independent and efficient operation in middle to upper management of the health industry. Practical application is rounded off by a practical project and excursions, offering insights into hospital operations and preparing students for their master's thesis.
