About this program

Communication design involves giving form to reality. Students in this department are encouraged to contribute their skills to all areas of social life, whether through the design of books, posters, websites, films, exhibitions, or campaigns, as well as through actions, objects, or 'design raw materials' such as fonts, illustrations, and photographs. The program offers an intensive approach to all topics through concrete project work, with individual or small group collaboration. Students have constant access to the college's versatile, excellently equipped workshops to realize their ideas in almost any form, with a significant emphasis on craftsmanship. To support this, renowned designers from around the world are invited to lead workshops, seminars, and lectures, bringing current communication design into the college. The department aims to train independent designers who are not just contractors but self-sufficient producers. It is common for students to undertake major projects, work for clients, or establish their own small agencies or galleries during their studies. This form of 'design entrepreneurship' is specifically fostered within the department.
