About this program

The Master's program in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy provides you with the necessary knowledge and skills for the diagnosis, treatment, and research of mental disorders. It is a prerequisite for the state examination for licensure as a psychotherapist. In the sense of a science-practitioner model, the program aims for a close link between scientific work and clinical-psychological practice. In the first year of study, the fundamentals of psychotherapy, diagnostics, assessment, and clinical-psychological research are taught in an application-oriented manner. The second year focuses on practical placements within the framework of the professional qualification activity (BQT-III). In outpatient BQT-III, teaching and observation therapies in the university's three outpatient clinics are available, while in inpatient BQT-III, a variety of local and regional cooperation clinics are available. The Master's thesis and preparation for the licensing examination are also planned for the second year. We support you with practice-oriented exam training.
