About this program
The distance learning Bachelor's program in Childhood and Youth Pedagogy (B.A.) equips students with the necessary professional and practical knowledge to professionally support young people. The program covers the education, upbringing, and development of children and adolescents, preparing graduates for pedagogical roles in various settings such as daycare centers, schools, and other socio-pedagogical institutions. The curriculum integrates foundational knowledge from pedagogy, psychology, law, politics, and society, alongside scientific working methods and research methodologies. Key competencies include diversity and inclusion, communication and conflict management, case work and counseling, pedagogical observation and diagnostics, leadership functions, and network work. The program offers a dual specialization in educational and upbringing areas and in a chosen methodology. It also focuses on adolescents, including topics like transition management between school and work. Graduates earn the academic degree Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and are qualified to use the professional title 'State-recognized Childhood Educator' nationwide. A 100-day practical phase is integrated into the study program.
