About this program
The Jazz Instruments / Jazz Vocals program offers opportunities for artistic development through exchange with other musicians and cultural scenes. Collaborations within and outside the university provide encounters with various ensembles, the electronic music studio, and concert and performance departments. Students gain recording experience and knowledge of music production in a modern sound studio. Numerous projects with cultural institutions in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region offer chances to become part of a vibrant scene, providing inspiration, networking, and performance opportunities. Regular workshops with international artists are also offered. The program emphasizes ensemble playing, with various jazz combos (Hardbop, Bebop, Latin, Fusion, free improvisation, avant-garde) and a traditional Big Band. Students can tailor their education by having multiple main subject teachers across different instruments.
