About this program
IMG is a degree program for prospective teachers as a second subject, which can replace the scientific minor subject at a cooperating university. The aim is to intensify artistic studies at the Karlsruhe Academy of Fine Arts and at the same time to broaden the profile for the future teaching profession. In cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), a partial degree program has been developed that is tailored to the special advantages of the Karlsruhe location. It considers the dimensions of space and time as artistic form and as a social phenomenon, applying methods of artistic research-based learning and teaching: Artistic Research in Practice and Theory. Thematic focal points include living world and environment, body and space, architecture, performance, time-based and digital media.
