About this program
The Master's program "Intelligent Interactive Systems" aims to impart in-depth knowledge and methods for the development and realization of intelligent interactive systems, taking into account current technological advances and scientific findings. Such systems are characterized by their ability to perceive complex environments and interact intelligently with them. A key feature is their capacity for cognitive behavior and learning, allowing them to adapt to changing situations, environments, tasks, and users. These systems are developed in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, Automation, Assistive Systems, or Human-Machine Interaction and find diverse applications in areas such as manufacturing, services, transportation, care/medicine, or the home environment. Students are guided towards independent work using scientific methods and principles of computer science (with a focus on cognitive, intelligent, and interactive systems) as well as other relevant disciplines (Robotics, Linguistics, Biology, Psychology, Medicine) depending on their specialization. In addition to knowledge transfer, the Master's program explicitly emphasizes the development of increasingly important interdisciplinary competencies and practical, career-qualifying knowledge and skills. Students thus learn the methods for developing intelligent interactive systems, are able to apply these methods, and can assess and reflectively use such systems in their impact. The "Intelligent Interactive Systems" program addresses the high demand for computer scientists with an interdisciplinary education in the field of intelligent technical systems. Wherever AI systems, robots, or other autonomous information systems are developed and used as intelligent assistants in the course of digitalization, computer scientists with a background at the intersection of intelligent systems / Artificial Intelligence and interactive systems / Human-Technology Interaction are urgently needed and have excellent career prospects. Possible fields of work include, for example, development departments in mechanical engineering, for production facilities (Industry 4.0), the automotive and media industries, as well as all areas of software development for digitized education, medicine, insurance, or the public sector.
