About this program
The Master's program in Computer Engineering (M.Sc.) is an interdisciplinary field of study that focuses on new challenges by combining classical engineering disciplines such as electrical engineering and mechanical engineering with systems engineering and computer science. The program aims for research-oriented deepening of subject and methodological competence acquired in a previous university degree and, if applicable, in practical professional experience. The interdisciplinary and integrative training builds on a solid mathematical-natural science education with knowledge in computer science, electrical engineering/electronics, and control engineering. Through the selection of elective subjects, students can specialize in areas with broad application profiles. Graduates are qualified to work in the development of technology-integrated systems in the field of hardware and software, and to collaborate with computer scientists and engineers from other disciplines. The scientific training also qualifies graduates for fields in research and science, both in public institutions and in industrial research departments, as well as for roles in education and training. The Master's degree is the standard university degree in Computer Engineering and is equivalent to the previous Diplom-Ingenieur.
