About this program

The Green Tech Year at HTW Dresden supports students in their study decisions. This orientation program allows students to get to know numerous study programs at HTW Dresden, experience campus life, and even have the opportunity to take exams. This eases the entry into subsequent studies. Students do not have to make a decision for a specific field of study or degree program yet. Instead, the Green Tech Year allows participation in a wide range of teaching offers such as excursions, practical laboratory exercises, or introductory lectures, thus enabling a sustainable decision on a field of study. The program includes getting to know study programs through introductory lectures, participating in laboratory tours, acquiring key competencies in seminars (self-management, rhetoric, academic work), and a "taster study" where students can select individual courses from HTW degree programs and attend them alongside regular students. Campus life and daily student life can be directly experienced, and students can utilize the Student Council (StuRa). Refresher courses in mathematics and physics are also offered to review or supplement Abitur knowledge.
