About this program

The program aims to enable students to innovatively design various health technology systems to improve people's quality of life. It allows students to design and realize innovative technical solutions to support doctors, nurses, and orthopedists, for example. To evaluate and successfully market these solutions, students also acquire sound business knowledge. Upon graduation, students can successfully apply their extensive interdisciplinary knowledge of engineering and economic contexts in health technology. The program is part of the industrial engineering study programs. Students interested in health technology issues and engineering applications, or who want to orient themselves professionally in the management of the health sector, are particularly encouraged to apply. In addition to basic scientific knowledge in mathematics, physics, and chemistry, the program imparts business and engineering skills. From the first semester, the study focuses on central aspects of health technology and management. For example, students gain knowledge about the structure of the human body and proper workplace design. The study is also complemented by knowledge of medical measurement technology and sensor technology, medical statistics, surface technology, and health economics. At the end of the study, students will be able to contribute to the design and adaptation of medical assistance systems. Through elective modules, students can tailor their studies to their personal preferences from the 5th semester onwards. In addition to technical qualifications, laboratory experiments and exercises in small working groups, as well as extensive project phases, contribute to making the studies demanding. In the final semester, the practical phase of at least 12 weeks and the bachelor's thesis effectively prepare students for their future professional lives.
