About this program

The consecutive Master's program Geothermal Engineering trains engineers who are capable of assessing the complex issues of geothermal systems in an increasingly diversified energy supply, with particular consideration of sustainability aspects, and of developing and implementing appropriate solutions. They understand the current technical concepts of the geothermal industry, can critically question them, and contribute to the development of geothermal projects in international and multidisciplinary teams. Students learn to technically execute a geothermal project, starting from preparatory exploration studies and the evaluation of the theoretical potential of a given resource to the actual completion of a system that produces heat and/or electricity economically and sustainably. With the academic degree of Master of Science in Geothermal Engineering, graduates gain advanced, scientifically based professional ability and competence for application-oriented research or leadership tasks beyond the B.Sc. degree.
