About this program
The combined Bachelor's program GVK shortens the path to a career in geodesy in the public surveying administration, as you can complete the preparatory service for the 3rd entry level in the surveying and geoinformation technology service parallel to your studies. The lecture-free period creates space for your training at the Rhineland-Palatinate Surveying and Cadastre Administration, where you will also complete your preliminary internship and practical project. The topic of your Bachelor's thesis also ensures close integration between theory and practice. If you want to reach your goal quickly, have clear career aspirations, and want financial security during your studies, the combined study program is the right choice. At the Rhineland-Palatinate Surveying and Cadastre Administration (VermKV), you will determine property boundaries to secure ownership of land, which are documented in the official land registry. The geobasis data also serve as a planning basis for larger construction projects or the reorganization of ownership and usage rights, for example, to make viticulture more economical. At the Service Centers for Rural Areas (DLR), the focus is on technical and planning processes. The inventory surveys and calculations by geodesists form an important basis for the redesign of the landscape and villages. You will discuss this with landowners and maintain contact with a variety of authorities and diverse interest groups. Or are you looking for a combined study program with a company or another institution? Various collaborations for your studies are also possible here with various partners from business and public administration. As a department, we support you and interested companies and institutions in organizing and planning the process. Based on many years of experience from our Geoinformatics and Surveying degree programs, we recommend the following timelines for companies for a study program starting in the summer or winter semester.
