About this program
The vocational training in horticulture takes place primarily in the greenhouses of the Botanical Garden. Trainees learn to cultivate, protect from pests, and provide plants with necessary nutrients. The program covers plant culture, including economically viable propagation methods and substrate composition, as well as plant care, including fertilization and pest control according to regulations. Practical experience includes working outdoors with potted plants and propagating tropical and subtropical plants. Trainees are gradually given responsibility for their own plant areas, including planning, cultivation, and care of summer flowers. The training aims for independent work.
