About this program
The conception and design of television formats have a tradition at KHM. In the foundational seminar 'Live Directing,' the rules and techniques of traditional live broadcasting are taught. This includes the formal possibilities of television, from magazines and talk shows to live broadcasts of music and sporting events. In practical application, students take turns in various roles such as camera operator, live editor, live director, editor, and presenter. In the main course of study, concepts for new formats are developed and produced, with intensive discussion of current distribution channels and design possibilities through the internet and VOD. The results are then presented to editorial teams and production companies for critique.
