About this program
The program enables students to competently and sensitively engage in dialogue about religion, understand religious questions as such, and develop an understanding for the religious dimension of life. The degree program imparts pedagogical, human science, and theological competencies to interpret and didactically convey religion. This also includes reflecting on societal frameworks, engaging with interreligious topics, and questions of societal secularization. The part-time study of Protestant Religious Education offers the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in four semesters by recognizing prior learning from other training programs and/or studies in related fields. The goal is to acquire theological, human science, and religious and community pedagogical competencies, thereby further qualifying oneself professionally. The program offers the opportunity to reflect on and further develop one's own professional practice.
