About this program

The Bachelor's program European Media Studies (EMW) provides fundamental competencies for the analysis, design, and critique of media, as well as content-related cultural management. The training is both practical (through an introduction to digital design techniques and format and concept project development) and theoretical (in areas such as media theory, media art, media cultural history, and media staging forms). The high proportion of project work in the studies and an integrated internship enable comprehensive qualification. The University of Potsdam and the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences jointly and equally operate the Bachelor's and Master's programs in European Media Studies. This form of cooperation between a university and a university of applied sciences is unique in Germany.
