About this program

The transfer-oriented Project-Competence Study (PKS) at Steinbeis University of Applied Sciences is characterized by a unique, consistent practical orientation built on a solid scientific foundation — naturally, while ensuring academic standards. Regardless of the study format our students choose – part-time, work-integrated, on campus, or online – Ferdinand von Steinbeis’ dual education concept is always implemented through a unique integration of theory and practice. Acquired specialized knowledge is tested in real-life situations, deepened, and thus enriched by practical experience. A key objective of Steinbeis University of Applied Sciences is to sustainably and comprehensively foster the development of competencies among students. They learn and work in close exchange with the university’s lecturers and the trainers at our corporate partners. The basis and prerequisite for each graduation project is a specific study project, known as the transfer project. Through practical engagement with company-relevant problems and the application of acquired specialized knowledge, students develop creative problem-solving and innovation competencies. An effective translation of theoretical knowledge into practice is supported by modern methods of experience-based learning, such as action Learning. Beyond acquiring technical competencies, students also learn to utilize and further develop their personal potential in their daily corporate lives. Because when students need to convince companies with their projects and solutions, more than mere specialized knowledge is required. Upon graduation, alumni of Steinbeis University of Applied Sciences possess a broad repertoire of know-how, practical skills, and personal abilities. The Project-Competence Study is therefore more than a career booster. It is also a foundation for lifelong learning, continuous improvement, and a key to unlocking personal potential. The Project-Competence Program is a win-win situation for all involved parties. Learning through practice: students work on real projects from companies and gain valuable practical experience. Career and personal growth booster: completing a practice-oriented degree as well as the personal skills developed during the studies make students attractive to employers and well-prepared for starting their own businesses. Optimized learning for working professionals: the PKS considers the needs of working professionals and facilitates an efficient combination of studies and career. Networking: students benefit from an extensive network of subject matter experts and industry leaders. Loyalty through educational opportunities: companies can inspire their best specialists by offering attractive educational.
