About this program

The Master's program focuses on English and American literature, culture, and media. The aim is to deepen your knowledge of current research questions and methods, enabling you to apply differentiated methodological and analytical skills and independently expand your scientific findings. You will engage with fictional texts from literature, as well as cultural content from art and film, analyzing them historically, ideologically, socially, and medially. In linguistics, you will examine the variability of English and its description methods. Your English language skills will be deepened to understand and reproduce complex content in the lingua franca. You will learn to critically assess various text types in oral and written form using linguistic and rhetorical devices. The program addresses categories such as race, class, and gender, as well as colonial and postcolonial realities, and places a high value on the presence of media. Flexible e-learning options and opportunities for study abroad complement the diverse study experience.
