About this program
Data Science is the foundation of the modern information society. Whether it's about improving streaming recommendations or understanding complex relationships in yet unexplored diseases – data science plays a crucial role in the development of our digital world. In the Data Science degree program at TU Ilmenau, you will first acquire a solid and balanced foundation in the mathematical and computer science disciplines, enabling you to understand, implement, and effectively use complex procedures such as machine learning and advanced data analysis methods. In addition to these theoretical foundations, you will gain insights into the practical handling of data from its collection to its evaluation starting in the first semester. Through applied projects, we will specifically prepare you for a successful professional career and ensure that you not only use the underlying concepts but also penetrate them and can critically reflect on your own work. Furthermore, the degree program is designed in a bilingual format. This program gradually introduces you to English-language lectures through additional English courses specifically tailored to the subject-specific vocabulary of the degree program. An English test is not required for participation.
