About this program
The Master's degree programme in classical and modern literary studies deals with the theoretical and methodological reflection of literary connections between Greek and Roman antiquity, Christian-Jewish culture and the great national literatures of Europe. The aim is for students to have an overview of the major lines of Hebrew-Jewish, Greek-Latin and modern literature and culture development and the ability to confidently present and analyse them. Students acquire the specific skills of a classical-philological as well as of a modern philological education and can productively combine and apply them. In addition, the students are also able to compare and relate the various approaches and methods of the various philological disciplines.
