About this program
The course provides a child- and family-centred perspective when working with mentally ill parents. The aim is to provide professionals with concepts and action strategies that enable them to better support mentally ill parents and their children and promote secure attachment development. The certificate course expands the expertise of professionals working in the inpatient and outpatient care of mentally ill parents. The course focuses not only on the treatment of the parent's mental illness, but also emphasises the perspective of the child and the family. This broader perspective enables professionals to strengthen parents in their self-awareness and bonding skills while keeping the child's needs in mind. Participants learn how to apply their specialist knowledge to individual problem-solving while taking different standards of judgement into account.
