About this program

The Bachelor's program in Chemistry traditionally distinguishes between inorganic, organic, physical, and theoretical chemistry. The curriculum in the first semesters focuses on fundamental knowledge in these areas, as well as physics and mathematics. Theoretical foundations are laid in lectures, exercises, and seminars. A significant emphasis is placed on practical training through laboratory internships. Students gain initial lab experience in the first and second semesters, explore physical-chemical relationships in the third and sixth semesters, and acquire basic synthetic skills in the fourth semester, which are further developed in the fifth semester. The program also includes seminars and internships on good scientific practice and elective subjects. To emphasize student strengths and compensate for weaknesses, only 80% of the examination results, along with the Bachelor's thesis, contribute to the overall grade.
