About this program
The Bachelor’s program Brewing and Beverage Technology deals with the engineering, biological, technological and biochemical processes of beverage production and brewing. Food safety, technological innovations, and resource conservation: The demands placed on industrially produced beverages are changing—both in terms of production and consumption. Students enrolled in the Bachelor’s program in Brewing and Beverage Technology (B.Sc.) learn how to develop new beverages and manage production processes and facilities in line with specific requirements. The program provides a broad foundation in natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering, along with knowledge in microbiology and comprehensive expertise in brewing and beverage technology. Students engage with product-related research, raw material production, fermentation technology, as well as the planning, design, and automation of modern production facilities and the development of new technologies in this field. They also acquire in-depth knowledge of regulatory and hygiene requirements for the production of safe beverages. Graduates of the program are interdisciplinary engineers with broad expertise across all areas of industrial beverage production. They are capable of understanding, analyzing, and optimizing the entire value chain of beverages—from raw materials to bottling. This makes them excellently qualified for entering the brewing and beverage industry, as well as for continuing their academic education in a relevant Master’s program.
