About this program
Biomedizinische Technik (BMT) is technology for life, directly benefiting human well-being. Its goal is the research and development of technology-oriented methods and systems for early detection, diagnosis, therapy, and rehabilitation of diseases. BMT is a multidisciplinary scientific field at the interface between medicine and technology with exceptionally high development dynamics. Current studies rank it among the top ten technologies of the 21st century. The Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering is a consecutive, research-oriented university degree program that builds upon a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering or other engineering degrees, qualifying graduates for professional careers in the medical technology industry, hospitals, or authorities. The goal of the research-oriented Master's program in Biomedical Engineering is to train graduates equipped with sound fundamental engineering knowledge, excellent methodological competence, a strong understanding of current medical issues, and practical medical technology skills. The Master's program BMT lays the foundation for a subsequent doctorate. Within the framework of the double Master's program with the University of Technology of Malaysia (UTM), students can earn a double degree.
