About this program

The Master's program in Biochemistry deepens biochemical concepts and advanced experimental techniques in the first year of study. In the second year, students apply and expand their knowledge through independently conducted research internships. When planning and documenting research projects, students train key skills such as literature research, scientific writing, presentation techniques, and critical engagement with experimental results. The curriculum is based on current research topics of the working groups involved in the program at Bielefeld University, the Heart and Diabetes Center in Bad Oeynhausen, and other university and non-university research institutions. Students can choose to specialize in one of the three offered profiles according to their interests.
