About this program
The part-time Bachelor of Arts program "Berufspädagogik – Rettungsdienst" qualifies emergency medical technicians and rescue assistants for a full-time teaching position, for example at rescue service schools or as a practical instructor in rescue service training. Students acquire sound didactic, pedagogical, and educational science competencies to professionally train future specialists. The program leads to a Bachelor's degree in two years and additionally includes the qualification as a practical instructor and a certificate for simulation-based teaching. The program supports the development of a reflective, professional identity as a teacher from the beginning. Students work on concrete research questions from their professional everyday lives, such as teaching quality, learning motivation, or curricular innovation. They develop their own concepts and methods from this. This research-based learning is closely linked to practical reflection, pedagogical attitude, and personal growth, making the program particularly effective for role transformation.
